Samsung One Remote And Sonos Home Theatre Speakers The configuration for Samsung One remote is somewhat complicated because this remote does not have infrared output, like most other remotes.
Choose the Universal Remote If you have not established the set up before, you have to set up the universal remote first. Click Start To Begin. You have to first set up the remote before you are allowed to add the Sonos home theatre. Click New Device to add your device. Select Home Theatre System. Search Sonos and change the input to — optical. At this point, you might have to test if the power source is set up properly.
Click the Power Test A pop up will ask for confirmation if it worked. Click Yes and done. Return to set up the universal remote setup.
If you have any other input device set up, such as a cable box, you can select Use with Home Theatre. Continue doing this for every input device.
Open Settings from the mobile app and select TV. Click to open the remote control setup, and follow the instructions. Plug-in the audio cable to the optical out port of the TV, and the input to the Playbar. Set up the Playbar using the Sonos app on your phone. The instructions are pretty similar to what we have already described before.
To set up the Sonos system with Playbar, follow these instructions: Open the Sonos app on your phone. Create a Sonos account, or log in if you already have an account. Click Set Up Speakers. Follow the instructions in the app and you will be able to set up Playbar in no time. Download the Sonos app on any smartphone or tablet and use it to pair Sonos device and TV together. This is done when you want to connect more than one Sonos speaker to your TV.
For this, you should essentially have at least one of the Sonos soundbars as mentioned above. For this, you should make sure both your Sonos speaker and TV support Bluetooth. It is easy to connect two Bluetooth-enabled devices together. However, make sure not all Sonos speakers are Bluetooth enabled. The Sonos speakers that are Bluetooth enabled are actually not built to be used as TV speakers but as wifi speakers.
This Bluetooth receiver device can easily be bought online. Or you can buy it at Amazon. Next, make sure you have a Bluetooth-enabled Sonos speaker like Sonos Play:1 to make this arrangement work.
The setup can easily be undone when you no longer want the speakers to use with the TV. Just remove the transmitter from the TV, and your Sonos speakers are ready to be used individually.
Alternatively, you can also set up your TV remote with Sonos speakers. This can be done when you have created a Sonos home theatre system at home. Currently connecting my play 5 to my TV via Line-in cable to audio out. The sound is good, but feels a little flat less bass, lower volume than when I play through spotify with WiFi.
Is there a better way to connect to the TV? I've got the sonos App turned up to 10 on the line-in options. Share Tweet Share Share. This topic has been closed for further comments. You can use the search bar to find a similar topic, or create a new one by clicking Create Topic at the top of the page. If the line out from your TV has a variable setting then use it.
At this point grab your Sonos controller and turn the volume to mid way. Next you can experiment with the TV remote to control the volume level being sent over the line-out and adjust the Play 5 accordingly using the Sonos app.
You can also get to a point where you leave the Sonos volume level set and use the TV remote for attenuation or do the reverse using the Sonos app. I hope this helps. Makes sense. Does the App being turned up to 10 effect the quality? It may be too loud. That's why I suggest you start mid-way on the slider and adjust accordingly. You might also adjust the bass, mid and high frequencies on your TV if possible. So an interesting twist here Or that the units aren't seeing stereo? I haven't another unit to test the cable with.
I guess ill have to buy one to test. So my point is it doesn't move speakers when i swap! Sonos must default to only left side working if it only gets one channel.
Is it seated real good in the Sonos - it's not a cable with 3 leads is it right left and video - those seem to never work right both channels when just using for audio. Do you have a cable you can verify the Sonos port is working right. Such as a 3. Thanks for the help! Glad we solved that mystery! Great to hear you guys got this resolved. Thanks Chris for helping out. Andy, one last thing from the diagnostic, it looks like there's a lot of wireless interference around the Right side, which could cause it to cut out at times.
If you have trouble, take a look for a cordless phone base station sitting right nearby the Right PLAY:5, or other wireless devices around there, such as other wireless speakers or security cameras. You can also try changing the wireless channels on your Sonos system. If you haven't had any trouble with that side cutting out, you don't need to be too concerned.
Rick n. Having owned a couple of Play 1's for a while, I now want to have 2 X play 5's set up as stereo pair to deliver highest quality sound for streaming MUSIC. I'm not interested in surround sound - just decent, spacial, stereo.
I was assuming I could connect my turntable into one of the play 5's and the TV headphone out into the other play 5 and use the app to select the input I want to listen to - is that possible? Should be possible. View real-time service status. Powered by inSided. Sign up Already have an account? Login Log in. Login to the community Log in. Username or e-mail.
